FAQ's about our badge service.
Digital I.D. Badges
Service Bureau Plan A:

Send us your logo and a sketch of how you want your I.D. Cards to look. We'll prepare a prototype card for your inspection. Once you have approved it, we are ready to produce your I.D. cards.

Using your own digital camera, you take photos of your individuals. Then send the photos to us, together with any variable information that should go on the badge. We then enter the data and photo and print out the cards. We punch slots in the cards and return them, together with strap clips, to you.

We require a minimum of 10 I.D. Cards for the first order. After that, there is no minimum number of cards. The minimum order amount is $10.00, which covers the processing cost for a single badge.

NOTE: We do not produce "novelty" cards. You may be required to send an authorization for your card request.

Service Bureau Plan B:

Plan B enables you to prepare your own I.D. Cards; then we print them and return them to you.

We provide you with a free copy of Assure ID Connect Software .The software allows you to design your own cards, enter cardholder information and photos into a database, even change cardholder information if you need to. The software allows you to do everything except print the I.D. Cards.

Once you have installed the free software, call us at 1-800-869-2827, and we will give you simple instructions for connecting to our server.

Then you can prepare your I.D. Cards and transmit them to us using our secure internet connection. We then print them out, punch slots, and return them to you.

Card design service is available with Plan B, but you can avoid the design charge if you choose to design your own badge.

Note: There's a 10 card minimum for the first order. There's no minimum for subsequent orders, but there's a $10.00 invoice minimum, which covers the cost of processing a single card.

FAQ's about Photo I.D. Service:

What kind of camera do I need?
Any digital camera that produces a jpg format photo that can be loaded into your PC. Cameras are available at Laminator Warehouse. Call us at 1-800-869-2827 to discuss the best one for your needs.

Is a camera really all I need?
Yes, but you may choose to use a tripod and backdrop. Call us at 1-800-869-2827 for these options.

Can I put my logo on the badge?
Yes, we will customize the badge to look just like you want it to. Just email your logo to images@laminatorwarehouse.com or mail us a letterhead or other good image of your logo. You can also fax a rough sketch of how you want your badge to look (Fax to 1-866-556-1164.), but you will need to email or mail any graphics (logo, etc.) that you want on the badge.

If I'm on Plan A, how do you know what name to use with each photo?
Simply rename the photo file to the person's name. That way they can't get mixed up. If your badge has variable information such as title, department, etc. on it, you can create an Excel spreadsheet and send to us.

What is the best way to send the photos?
Just email the files to images@laminatorwarehouse.com. Or you may mail a memory card, diskette, or CD to us. Be sure to use a bubble mailer to protect it.

How long does it take?
Designing the badge and getting your approval usually takes several days. For Plan A, once we have the photos, we normally return finished badges within two days. Plan B badges are normally returned same or next day we receive your badge data.

How can I make sure the cards I have designed will look right?
Create and send us a single card before you make up all of your cards. We will print it, scan the printed card, and email it to you so you can see if there are any unexpected problems. There is no charge for this service, and we strongly encourage you to send a test card.

BADGE DESIGN TIP: How do I keep my photographs from looking "squashed"?
Choose the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" button in Photograph attributes.

BADGE DESIGN TIP: Can I place objects anywhere on the badge?
If you want a slot (for a strap clip or lanyard) punched in the badge, be sure your text and graphics aren't located where they will be punched out. The slot will be centered and extend to 5/16" from the edge of the card.
